New Ranks At Loreto

Loreto College Kenpo Karate Schools in Crumlin, Dublin recently held a number of gradings where students were assessed and put through their paces in front of grading examiners which included Professors Alan Corrigan, Dermot O'Reilly and Freda Roberts. Joseph Fay, who has been training in Kenpo for the last 10 years graded successfully to the rank of brown belt. Fay endured a vigorous examination, performing a series of sets, forms and techniques. The final part of the test consisted of a number of freestyle sparring bouts against single and double attackers.
First Dan For Sinead Rooney

Firhouse Kenpo Karate Club recently witnessed the examination and promotion of long-time student Sinead Rooney to 1st degree black belt at their club in Tallaght, Dublin. Rooney embarked on her Kenpo career in February, 1998 at the age of 11 while playing basketball at the Firhouse Sports Complex. Her fascination with Kenpo quickly developed watching the students in their black suits and coloured belts, and pretty soon she was devoting her time to Kenpo training, ceasing participating in other activities such as Irish dancing, drama and basketball.
Gathering of the Eagles - US Visit

A senior delegation from the Loreto College Kenpo Karate School attended the 2007 Gathering of the Eagles in Illinois, Chicago. The event hosted by Al Tracy was a two-day affair featuring over 50 seminars and allowed for the integration of Martial Arts finest Masters to exchange ideas and knowledge.
