Driver Barney Coleman travelled to jersey in the Channel Islands recently for the European Kenpo Championships. 1,200 competitors from 14 countries, representing 30 martial arts associations, took part.
One of the highlights of the weekend was a series of seminars given by Hollywood film star Eric Lee. Eric is a veteran of 27 movies and held 100 world titles in martial arts. Barney travelled with Loreto College Kenpo Karate School, which between them won 46 awards.
Barney is well known in the martial arts world. He is a 6th degree Professor and acted as a referee and judge at the championships. He was presented with a special award to commemorate the opening of the famous High Street Kenpo Karate School 30 years ago. The school is still going strong today.
The Loreto College would like to thank Dublin Bus for sponsoring the kit bags they received for the championships.
